On behalf of the St Mary’s Avondale School Board of Trustees, staff and students, I extend a very warm welcome to you and your family as you embark on the very important decision as to where to educate your child.
St Mary’s is a small Catholic full primary school with a big heart. Our small size is one of our strengths as it allows us to foster a family friendly atmosphere where staff get to know all the children well. St Mary’s students are from multicultural backgrounds, and we rejoice in our diversity.
St Mary’s, originally named St Bride’s, was founded by the Mercy Sisters in 1923 and we continue to follow the Mercy faith charism (gift), inspired by Catherine McAuley.
St Mary’s is an inclusive, caring school where staff, parents and students all work together to meet the needs of our learners and prepare them for their future. Our children achieve very well academically and enjoy regular opportunities to participate in spiritual, sporting and cultural events. Parent participation is welcomed and we offer many opportunities for parents and families to come and engage with the children’s learning.
Excerpts from our latest ERO Review:
We welcome your consideration of St Mary’s as your school of choice for your child and family.
